What is Ascend Finance?

Ascend is a decentralized, non-custodial DeFi protocol aimed at maximizing the potential of Ethereum Liquid Re-Staking Tokens (LRTs). When a user deposits LRT tokens in the protocol, they can mint Ascend's stablecoin, GREEN. GREEN is fully collateralized by LRTs, and can be traded on the market to provide instant liquidity. GREEN held in your wallet earns interest from LRT rewards. Unlike traditional stablecoins which don't provide any yield to users, GREEN is an interest-bearing stablecoin. This provides users - who are typically choosing between holding volatile assets which can drop in value or stablecoins which lose to inflation - with an important alternative, the ability to hold a stablecoin while still earning sustainable yield.
